How to Write Holiday Wishes

The holiday season 2021 is here. You now need to go to social media and write all the holiday wishes. It’s a special time and you need to make sure you wish for your friends, family, and colleagues.

Now, while it is not that difficult to write a holiday greeting, it is a bit different from a greeting on any other occasion. So, what makes writing the perfect holiday wishes different from any other greeting? And, more importantly, how do you actually go about writing a wish that connects.

Let’s learn that now…

How to Write Holiday Wishes

  1. First, be personal. Go beyond the generic “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays.” Address your loved ones by name. This will make them feel special and appreciated. Studies have proven that when you call somebody by their name, it activates the pleasure center of their brain. So, be personal as much as possible.
  2. Be specific. Instead of just saying “I hope you have a great holiday,” say what you hope they’ll experience. Will you be spending time with them? Will they get to travel and see new things? Will they be able to relax and enjoy themselves?
  3. Be heartfelt. This is the most important part of writing holiday wishes. You want to express what you’re feeling inside, not just what you think someone wants to hear.
Phrases such as “Happy Holiday” or “Have a great holiday” sound nice, but they don’t really say anything. Instead, try phrases such as “I’m so grateful for you,” “I wish you all the best,” or “I hope your holiday is everything you hoped for.”
  1. Use your own words. Don’t copy and paste from a website or card company. This will make your wishes sound original and heartfelt. While writing, you can think of the things the holiday stands for. These can be a great source of inspiration.
  2. Show that you care about them. Wish them things that you know they want for themselves, not just things that you think they should want. For example, if you know that your friend loves to cook, wish her a lovely holiday meal.

Now you know how to write the perfect holiday wishes. Go on and create some messages now.
