How to recycle your electronic waste without spending money

When it comes to recycling e-waste, it’s surprising how little you have to spend to accomplish a lot. Of course, if you’ve got the time to fiddle endlessly with something as complex as an old computer, there are plenty of cost-free ways to recycle e-waste.

But if your time is worth money to you and your energy is limited, you can still recycle your e-waste without spending a dime. Here are four of the simplest ways to get started:

#1: Sell Your e-waste To Local Resellers

There is a market for all kinds of used electronic equipment. The main thing that you may have to do is make sure it’s properly packed, labeled, and shipped. If you live near a city with a computer store, there’s a good chance they will pay you for your old equipment. Some computer stores even offer to pick up. From there, it would be sent to recycling centers. You can gather all the electronic junk in the DemoBags® and then use Haultail® on-demand last-mile delivery service to do the needful.

#2: Donate E-waste To The Right Organization

The good news is that you can find plenty of programs to take your old electronic equipment, and very few require anything other than a phone call or an online submission form to do it. Finding such a program can be as easy as using Google to search for “e-waste recycling.” Just make sure you’re donating your equipment to a reputable organization. To ease it up, you can pack all the junk in our cheap contractor bags – DemoBags® and we’ll do the needful.

#3: Sell Your e-waste Online

The Internet is filled with opportunities to sell used e-waste. You can try eBay, Craigslist, local classifieds, or the many sites that specialize in unloading unwanted electronics.  You can even sell your e-waste directly to a refurbisher.

Note: Always check to make sure that any site is a legitimate one. Never give out your credit card information to anyone unless you are 100% sure they are reputable.

#4: Donate e-waste Directly To Recycling Centers

The Simplest Ways to Recycle E-waste Without Spending a Dime

Many recycling centers will accept whatever kinds of electronics you want to give them, even if it’s not on their list. Better yet, many recycling companies will actually pay you for the privilege of taking your e-waste off your hands. So if you have trouble finding another way to recycle e-waste in your area, this is a great option to try out.

Remember to use the DemoBags®, the perfect contractor trash bags to do the hauling and carrying.
